Second, get up and move. While many doctors recommend that new moms wait at least six weeks postpartum before hitting the gym again, it’s absolutely safe to do something simple like a take a walk around the neighborhood with your new family. Before you begin your new workout or exercise routine, ease back into things with a light 15-minute session. As long as you have your doctor’s approval, you can start out by doing yoga in the convenience of your home. However, keep in mind that if you have a complicated pregnancy or delivery, there’s a chance that you might be blood deficient. The last thing that you will want to do is to pick up where you last left off before your pregnancy. A heavy exercise routine might deplete your body and make you feel even more exhausted than before. Restorative and therapeutic exercises like yoga or Pilates is a good start.
