100% Waterproof Loom Footwear Honest Review

Hi friends, I recently received a pair of Loom Footwear sneakers and I wore throughout my trip to Portland this past weekend. I was surprised there was no break-in period. The Loom Footwear 100% waterproof sneakers immediately felt light, breathable, and comfortable. I was walking at least 10,000 steps everyday throughout my trip, and my feet did not hurt or feel tired. With new shoes, you often develop hot spots, blisters, or areas of discomfort. This did not happen with my Loom Footwear.

What I like about my Loom Footwear is its minimalism. There’s no branding, so it’s all about the shoe. The material is easy to clean, just dampen a microfiber towel and give any smudges a good wipe. Magic erasers do the trick too.

The Loom Footwear is easy to slip into, especially with socks on (yes I wore socks on my trip) and the sizing felt true to size. I am normally a size 8 US in women’s, and I asked Loom to send me a size 8. My wide feet appreciated how the sneakers weren’t snug. The arch and ankle support is moderate. My flat feet felt fine in these sneakers.

We’ve been having dry weather, so I have not had a chance to jump into puddles yet. I did spray them with a hose and my feet did not get wet.

What I also like about these shoes is how I’m about an inch taller in them. The soles are thick and feel like supportive foamy pillows. Each step feels like I’m not walking on concrete, but over tender clouds. As Loom Footwear sneakers contain moisture-wicking material and antimicrobial properties that destroy bacteria in sweat that creates odor, they are supposed to keep your feet fresh at all times. I have not noticed any smells yet, and my feet tend to get sweaty and stinky fast.

The Loom Footwear sneakers are also slip-resistant, so while I don’t recommend you run around over slippery surfaces, you would not easily slip or fall while walking outside in the rain, in these shoes.

This is not a fully vegan shoe, as merino wool is used for the lining. (Made with cruelty-free material sourced from some of the most eco-friendly farms in the world.)

Honest feedback

  • The shoe is not fully vegan, so if you’re looking for a shoe made with only vegan materials, this is not the shoe for you.

  • I’m unsure if you can toss these sneakers in the washing machine or not.

  • Pricing is fair at $99 USD with the current discount promotions and free shipping.

  • Branding is minimalist to non-existent.

  • Shoelaces— maybe a shoelace clip design would be better?

  • Only black and white pairs are available. Advertised, the white is more ivory/off-white but the actual pair is whiter.

  • Wider profile vs slimming silhouette, so feet are not very sexy in these, but these sneakers will go beautifully with high-waist loose, wide jeans and pants.

  • Comfortable, lightweight, no break-in period, flexible, soft shoes. Great for walking, jogging, running.

  • No half sizes. Loom Footwear recommends you size up.

  • Overall a great waterproof shoe, easy to care for, warm when it’s cold outside, slip-resistant, and easy to wear.
